The Management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has officially released the schedule and key dates for the upcoming 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream I Orientation Course.
In an internal circular dated 20th May, 2026, issued from the Directorate Headquarters at Yakubu Gowon House, Abuja, the scheme outlined the major milestones for the orientation exercise across all thirty-six (36) states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The memo, signed by Nura Umar NPOM, Director (PRS) on behalf of the Director-General, provides immediate clarity for thousands of Prospective Corps Members (PCMs), institutional stakeholders, and NYSC field staff nationwide as logistics reach their peak execution phase.

📅 Official Timeline & Key Camp Dates
Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) are strongly advised to take note of the explicit timeline approved by the Director-General to ensure they do not miss critical administrative windows during mobilization:
- Commencement of Orientation Course: Wednesday, 10th June, 2026
- Registration Period: Wednesday, 10th June to Friday, 12th June, 2026
- Registration Cut-Off Deadline: Midnight, Friday, 12th June, 2026
- Official Swearing-in Ceremony: Friday, 12th June, 2026
- Official Closing Ceremony: Tuesday, 30th June, 2026
⚠️ Crucial Guidelines for Prospective Corps Members (PCMs)
With the release of these official dates, PCMs must immediately begin preparing both logistically and mentally for the intensive 3-week camp training.
- Strict Adherence to Cut-Off Dates: Registration at all temporary and permanent orientation camps across the nation closes at exactly midnight on Friday, 12th June, 2026. Late arrivals will not be tolerated, and individuals who miss this window will automatically forfeit their stream and have to wait for subsequent batch mobilization.
- Document Verification Preparation: Ensure that all original physical documents—including your Call-up Letter, Green Card, Statement of Result/Degree Certificate, Institutional ID card, and mandatory medical fitness certificate—are fully organized in your file before setting out.
- Physical & Skill Training Readiness: The orientation course spans exactly 20 days of intensive physical training, military drills, formal lectures, and the vital Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programs designed to equip corps members for self-reliance during and after the service year.
🚨 Critical Security & Travel Advisory
As you prepare to travel to your designated orientation camps nationwide, you are strictly advised to prioritize personal safety:
- Travel only during daylight hours.
- Board vehicles exclusively from designated public motor parks/terminals.
- Stay in constant communication with family members and guardians throughout your transit journey.
Next Steps for NYSC Officials
The circular explicitly addresses all Directors, Acting Directors, State/FCT Coordinators, and Deputy/Assistant Directors, instructing them to take “necessary action” to ensure a hitch-free orientation course. State secretariats are already putting finishing touches on camp facilities, sanitation systems, medical clinics, and security coordination to provide a safe and productive environment for the incoming corps members.
