JAMB Advises 2026 UTME and DE Candidates to Create Profiles Early

2026 UTME: JAMB Advises 2026 UTME and DE Candidates to Create Profiles Early

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has advised candidates intending to register for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) to begin their profile creation as early as possible.

According to the Board, early preparation will help candidates avoid unnecessary pressure and technical issues as the registration period approaches. In its weekly bulletin released on Monday, JAMB reminded prospective applicants to carefully confirm the accuracy of their National Identification Number (NIN) details before starting the profile creation process.

The Board warned that incorrect or incomplete NIN information could lead to avoidable problems during registration and even affect participation in the examination.

JAMB stressed that candidates who have not yet created their profiles should act without delay, noting that registration for the 2026 UTME and Direct Entry could commence at any moment.

In its advisory, the examination body encouraged candidates to ensure that all personal information, including names, dates of birth, and other records, are correctly captured and consistent across all official databases.

JAMB also highlighted that opportunities to correct personal data are becoming increasingly limited. Due to frequent misuse of correction windows, the Board noted that requests for changes may not always be approved once registration begins. Candidates were therefore urged to take full responsibility for the accuracy of their details from the outset.

The Board explained that this guidance aligns with the Federal Government’s people-oriented policies, which consider the current economic challenges facing many Nigerian families and aim to reduce unnecessary financial and administrative burdens.
